Blitzkrieg Rally For 4-2 Win
|
Port Huron pitcher Max van Capelleveen did his part in helping his team beat the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Dennis Henry earned the save for Port Huron, his 3rd of the year. The Blitzkrieg, at 38-55, sit in 11th place in the Menard's AAA.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Mark Newton's at-bat in the top of the eighth was vitally important. With one out, the Port Huron catcher hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"We put together a nice win," Newton said.
