Late Magic Gets Monongahela 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Monongahela Monsters and the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, pitcher Oliver Haddow was the difference between victory and defeat. The Monongahela right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 Monsters win. Jack Herer got the save, the 7th for him this season. Monongahela now owns a record of 19-22.
Monongahela used a timely hit from Stu Roberts to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Monsters ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"It was our day today," Haddow told the Monongahela Citizen. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
