|
Good production from first baseman Jon Melanson helped the Hialeah Dodos topple the Kansas Rainbeaus, 3-0. Melanson was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Dodos. George Butler earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. The win puts the Dodos at 16-18, while the Rainbeaus drop to 15-19.
Lee Montgomery, the Hialeah shortstop, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 1-0, Dodos. For the game, Montgomery went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
