Buzz Slap 5-1 Loss on Thunderbirds
|
Salt Lake City took on Hamilton in front of a lively crowd.
Salt Lake City left-hander Iwan Vroom pitched his team to victory over the Hamilton Thunderbirds at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The final score was 5-1. Vroom went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 6-3.
Salt Lake City used the bat of Davis Davenport to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Buzz ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Davenport, "and go after the next one."
The win gives Salt Lake City a season record of 46-42.
