In a well-pitched game between the Port Royal Disaster and the Vermont Lake Monsters, pitcher Miguel Hernández was superb. The Port Royal left-hander helped his team win, 2-0. Hernández got the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 2 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Hernández allowed no runs. Carl McCoy was credited with the save for Port Royal, his 26th of the season.

With runs few and far between, the Disaster had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Port Royal came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when left fielder Eric Bowman delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Jami Jokinen and made the score 1-0, Disaster. Bowman went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
