The Graveyard was the site of the home opener for the Casper Ghosts. The contest featured a prime matchup between Arthur Corrigan of the visiting Richland Rails and Júlio Moya of the Ghosts. The final score was 5-3, the Rails getting the win. Tomás Pereira turned in the best performance. Arthur Corrigan, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Ghosts to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2.
In the bottom of the ninth, Rory Ranson stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Ghosts were trailing 5-3, but had runners on 2nd and 3rd. That's when Frank Smith made a terrific pitch and Ranson flied out. Gone was the dream of a Casper comeback.
