Golden Cranes Stick Disaster with 4-2 Loss
|
Starting pitcher Cisco Morales was a major factor in the 4-2 Santa Barbara Golden Cranes triumph over the Port Royal Disaster. Morales, now 5-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The save went to Don Williams, number 10 for him.
Santa Barbara used a well-timed hit by José Organito to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Golden Cranes ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It was a good effort all around," said Organito.
The 9th-place Golden Cranes lifted their record to 34-40.
