Humpbacks Take Down Dodos, 3-2
Hialeah got a terrific performance from pitcher Robert Joubert, but it wasn't enough to beat the Alaskan Humpbacks. Alaskan won the Sea World contest, 3-2. Joubert threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The winner in relief was Carlos Churen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 5-1. The save went to Robert Erickson, his 9th this season.

The Humpbacks beat the Dodos in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single John Simpson produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Carter, Simpson gave his team a 3-2 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"I still think this team can play even better," Simpson told the Alaskan Gazette.

Early on, the Humpbacks, at 15-4, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
