|
Jersey City Tritons starter Leonardo Sánchez pitched a strong game against the Hamilton Thunderbirds at Coyote Wildlife Refuge, leading the Tritons to victory, 5-2. Benjamin Renninger earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. Peter Bradley recorded the save for Jersey City, his 6th of the season.
Víctor Salazar, who is tied for 10th in the 3AAA with a .825 OPS, contributed to the Jersey City win with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Salazar told the Jersey City Herald.
The Tritons saw their win-loss record go to 43-26. At the same time, the Thunderbirds fell to 25-44.
