Golden Cranes Knock Off ParksNRec at Crane Field
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes overcame a fine performance by Pawnee designated hitter Allen Edwards to defeat the ParksNRec, 5-4, at Crane Field. Edwards belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Li-zhi Lai, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 7-2. Santa Barbara is now 30-33, Pawnee 28-35.
The Golden Cranes got an important contribution from first baseman José Organito, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a 2-2 changeup into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Golden Cranes ahead, 3-1.
"Good win for us," said Organito. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
