Disaster Get One-Run Win at Vermont
The Port Royal Disaster did just enough to secure a victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters, 6-5, at Monster Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Stuart Chase. Chase went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-2. Carl McCoy collected his 19th save.

George Samuels helped out the Port Royal cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the shortstop drew 1 walk.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Samuels.

The Disaster, at 38-23, lead by one game in their division.
