Getting a good performance from first baseman Esteban Costello, the Plymouth Rocks defeated the Florida Men, 8-2. Costello was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Rocks. Robin Andrews, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3.1 innings. With the win over Florida, the Rocks improved to 35-26.
Plymouth right fielder Javier Caballero contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 42nd hit of the season and put the Rocks ahead, 3-1.
"We maximized our offense today," said Plymouth skipper Harris Harden. "That makes everyone's life easier."
