Hot Chickens Deal Blitzkrieg 6-1 Setback
|
The Nashville Hot Chickens beat the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 6-1, at Hot Chickens Park. The win was due in part to third baseman Waylon Meade, who went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Júlio Zúñiga picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. Mike Thornton was tagged with the loss. The loss makes Port Huron 24-37.
Early in the game, center fielder Tadasu Ogasahara had a 2-run double for Nashville. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Hot Chickens on top, 2-0.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Meade, "and go after the next one."
