The Port Huron Blitzkrieg beat the Vermont Lake Monsters by a score of 5-4. Port Huron shortstop Jorge Muñóz deserved the lion's share of the credit. Muñóz was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Blitzkrieg. Port Huron reliever Pablo Montoya picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Troy Charles Jr. was saddled with the loss. Port Huron is now 24-36, Vermont 32-28.
The result might have been different for Port Huron, had it not been for Ray Parker, the 24-year old center fielder . Parker stroked a run-scoring ground out in the top of the ninth inning to put Port Huron up, 5-4. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Vermont manager António García. "But we decided not to take it."
