Port Royal pitcher José Pérez gave the Hot Chickens all they could handle, but in the end, Nashville left Hot Chickens Park with a win, 2-1. Pérez allowed no runs on 5 hits over 8 innings. Nashville reliever Todd Gould picked up the win to move to 2-1. Carl McCoy suffered the loss. Today's win puts Nashville at 30-27, while Port Royal falls to 36-21.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Nashville trailing 1-0, Jai-guo Sun hit a slider from Carl McCoy for a 2-run home run, giving the Hot Chickens the walk-off win.

"This place was rockin'," Sun said.
