Blitzkrieg Fall Short, 4-3, at Austin
|
The Austin Black Mambas defeated the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 4-3, in M3L Triple A action at Mamba Park. Austin pitcher Julius Angrenny had a standout performance. Angrenny, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 3 walks. The save was credited to Sun-ho Yang, his 18th.
The Black Mambas got a big hit from left fielder Raúl Hernández. In the bottom of the sixth, Hernández smacked a 2-run double off Port Huron pitcher Yuan Thian. It was his 3rd double of the season. Suddenly, the Black Mambas were ahead, 4-3.
Port Huron manager Jack Alexander said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The triumph puts Austin at 32-23 for the season.
