In a low-scoring game between Syracuse and Sioux Falls, pitcher Adam Walker was excellent. The Syracuse left-hander helped his team knock off the Red Pandas, 3-1. Walker picked up the win for Syracuse, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Miguel Bruno earned the save for Syracuse, his 4th of the year.
Orlando Sáenz came through for Syracuse when he hit a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a two-strike fastball to center field, staking his team to a 1-0 lead.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Sáenz.
The Red Pandas fall to 6-9 and continue their lackluster start in 2053.
