Blitzkrieg Squelch Buzz Offense in Shutout Win
|
Spirits Stadium was the site for M3L Triple A action featuring the Salt Lake City Buzz and Port Huron Blitzkrieg.
The bats were silent much of the day at Spirits Stadium. But Mike Sherman conjured up just enough offense to carry the Blitzkrieg past the Salt Lake City Buzz, 3-0. Sherman was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Darwin McGinnity got the save, the 11th for him this season.
Sherman had a key at-bat for Port Huron early in the game. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and gave Port Huron an early 2-0 lead.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Sherman.
Port Huron is now 15-24, Salt Lake City 16-23.
