Tritons Need Extra Innings to Top Hot Chickens, 5-2
|
The Tritons grabbed a win, 5-2, at Hot Chickens Park, overcoming a fine effort from Nashville pitcher Robert Carlson. Carlson went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The Tritons now have a record of 17-11 with the win over Nashville.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Bill Jackson came to bat in the top of the 14th. Facing Nashville pitcher Eduardo Martínez, he hit a 1-0 changeup for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Jersey City on top, 4-2.
"We did enough to win," said Jackson.
