Buzz Take Nail-Biter Over Tritons
|
Jersey City wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Jing-quo Ts'ai, falling to the Salt Lake City Buzz, 4-3. Ts'ai threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Salt Lake City reliever Juan Trujillo got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Stanton Maxwell was tagged with the loss. The win leaves Salt Lake City with a record of 8-10.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the 20th. With Salt Lake City trailing 3-2, Colm Reyes hit a fastball from Stanton Maxwell to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Buzz had a walk-off win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Jersey City manager Darryl Gordon.
