Port Royal starter Mario Silva had a strong outing against the Hamilton Thunderbirds at Ballpark of Port Royal. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-2 win. Silva went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-0. The Thunderbirds fall to 5-8 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2053 season.

The Thunderbirds had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Disaster going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old center fielder Eric Bowman came to the plate. Bowman hit a 2-run home run on a 2-1 fastball from Hamilton hurler Gregory Gilbert. It was Bowman's 1st home run of the year.
