Rocks Deal Black Mambas 4-3 Loss
|
Plymouth picked up a win at Mamba Park, bumping off the Austin Black Mambas, 4-3. Pitcher Matt Jones was a major reason the Rocks emerged victorious. Jones got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 hits and walked 5 over 6.1 innings. Jones allowed 2 runs. The win puts Plymouth at 7-5.
Plymouth used the bat of Javier Caballero to capture the win. The right fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Rocks ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
Caballero told the Plymouth News: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
