Tritons Knock Off Hot Chickens at Jersey City Grounds
|
Jersey City Tritons starter Pablo Moreno was in fine form against the Nashville Hot Chickens at Jersey City Grounds, leading his team to a win, 3-1. Moreno, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Jersey City goes to 9-2.
In the bottom of the sixth, Jersey City right fielder Bill Jackson put his team on top. With one out and a runner on 1st, he hit his 2nd home run of the year. Nashville pitcher Caleb Bullock served it up. Just like that, the Tritons were ahead, 2-1.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Jersey City manager Darryl Gordon said.
