Port Huron Park was the site of the home opener for the Port Huron Blitzkrieg. The contest featured a prime matchup between James Ellison of the visiting Salt Lake City Buzz and Mike Thornton of the Blitzkrieg. The final score was 3-2, the Buzz getting the win. James Ellison turned in the best performance.

Salt Lake City used the timely hitting of Fa-hsien Tze to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Buzz on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Tze told the Salt Lake City Chronicle.
