Shredders Can't Finish, Lose 3-0
|
The Seattle Rocketeers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Coyote Peterson, who kept Hollywood hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Rocketeers win at The Hollywood Bowl. Seattle reliever Billy Richardson picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Ratko Peric was saddled with the loss. Seattle is now 53-54, Hollywood 52-55.
Seattle used the timely hitting of U-ram Chong to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rocketeers ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Chong told a Seattle Observer reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
