Cattlemen Roll Over Bullets, 11-3
|
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Francisco Cardenas, the Ft. Worth Cattlemen defeated the Baltimore Bullets, 11-3. Cardenas went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Cattlemen. The winning pitcher was Jeff McFarland. His record is now 6-3. The right-hander went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits for the Cattlemen. Ft. Worth has now won 4 straight.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Amani Marwan? The Ft. Worth right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Cattlemen on top, 3-0. For the game, Marwan had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Cardenas told the Ft. Worth Observer.
