Jason Kofod was outstanding against Seattle. The left-hander, who is tied for 7th in the SL in strikeouts with 144, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Oaks 3-2 win. Kofod, now 8-5, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The Oaks raised their record to 52-47.
Pineki Walekino, the Oakland right fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 3-0, Oaks. For the game, Walekino went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Oakland manager DAshley GoAs.
