He may have less experience than most of his USSL Mexican Summer League peers, but that didn't slow Homer bin Ubaid down at all in 2052.
At the age of 18, the MSL Ft. Worth second baseman has been named the winner of the USSL Mexican Summer League Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .367 batting average and a .415 on-base percentage this year. In 48 games he piled up 69 hits, 9 doubles, no triples, 3 home runs, 17 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 6 first place votes out of a possible 10. Jorge Morales of the MSL Hollywood Shredders finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Dong-hua Sima of the MSL Panama City Piranhas finished third.
