At MSL Ft. Worth Ballpark today, Lakerveld showed how well he learned that lesson. The 17-year-old first baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the MSL Hollywood Shredders, helping his team knock off the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen by a score of 12-0. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." David Lakerveld singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Sebastian Mumbya in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
