PMSL Announces Pitcher of the Year Award

He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season José Carmona performed like a veteran on the hill for the MSL Buffalo White Walkers and walked away with the USPL Mexican Summer League Pitcher of the Year Award in the process.

The 18-year-old White Walkers star fashioned a 12-2 won-loss record in 2052 with a 2.30 ERA. In 98 innings of work and 16 starts, Carmona struck out 120 while giving up 63 hits and 24 walks. He held opposing batters to a .181 average.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Willie Silva of the MSL Buffalo White Walkers finished second in voting, while Ted Bottone of the MSL New Orleans Voodoo finished third.
