Nakagawa Fires 10-0 Shutout for Long Island
Friday, August 16th , 2052
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Seiichi Nakagawa of the Long Island Ducks proved the point at Ducks Park today, holding the Flint Crush to 1 hit in a complete game shutout victory.
"Nakagawa made us look real bad today," Crush manager Tim Nelson said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Nakagawa had 11 strikeouts and gave up no walks as the Ducks took the 10-0 win.
This season Nakagawa has crafted a 7-2 mark with a 1.50 ERA in 78 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .153 against him and he has 99 strikeouts.
