Beavers End Ci's Streak Tuesday, July 2nd , 2052 It was the best of both worlds for the Ballard Beavers today at The Beaver Dam, as they defeated the Fort Knox Centennial 6-2 and also snapped Xue-liang Ci's 29-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old Fort Knox left fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Ci, we just wanted to win the game," said Beavers skipper Gerald Clark. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Ci frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Ci is currently batting .371 with 9 home runs and 36 RBIs. |
