Willard Swats 3 Homers
Monday, July 1st , 2052
Reginald Willard went on an explosive hitting spree against the Ballard Beavers at The Beaver Dam today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Fort Knox Centennial to the 10-8 win.
The catcher finished 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 4 runs batted in.
"It was just one of those days," Willard said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."
Ballard skipper Gerald Clark said Willard was "locked-in."
"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."
Reginald Willard grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Elliott Boyd in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Phil Krause in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Kevin Rose in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
So far this year Willard is batting .259 with 5 home runs.
