Pierogis Whitewashed by Ward Wednesday, June 5th , 2052 Steve Ward dominated the Squirrel Hill Pierogis with a brilliant 3-hit shutout in a Ithaca Fighting Imps 6-0 triumph at Imps Park. The Ithaca hurler fanned 8 and walked 1 in the game and was singled out for praise afterward by the opposing manager. "He really kept us in check today," Pierogis skipper Aaron Barnes said in postgame comments. "Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away. We took some pathetic swings."
