Big Day for Sheppard: Swats 5 Hits Friday, August 23rd , 2052 Ft. Polk South third baseman Joshua Sheppard had a big day at Thunder Hawks Ballpark today against the Athletic Club KC Academy. The 27-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Thunder Hawks to a 15-1 triumph over Athletic Club KC Academy. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Sheppard said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Joshua Sheppard walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Gerrit Lock in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Milton Loughens in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Thus far this season Sheppard is hitting .188 with 15 home runs, 51 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He has 58 hits in 308 at-bats and has played in 85 games. View Boxscore View Game Log |
