Gwinnett Dazed, King Gets No-Hitter
Tuesday, June 4th , 2052
Billings Polar Bears starter Lao King came up big today at Experimental Stadium with an exceptional 4-0 outing against the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs. Not only did he whip them, but King held them hitless, too.
"My arm was a bit sore in warmups," confessed King. "Sometimes you go out there and you're not feeling all that hot. You get into the game and all of a sudden in the seventh inning you look up and see the scoreboard and think to yourself, 'Oh, my goodness, I have a no-hitter!' You're so focused on what you're doing, it just happens."
In the course of the no-hitter, King collected 6 strikeouts and surrendered 3 walks -- a day good enough to get his name in the history books.
This season King has nailed down 1 save with 26 strikeouts in 33.1 innings. He is credited with 3 wins and 1 loss and has a 2.70 earned run average.
