Arizandieta on Fire: 6-for-9 for Asheville Monday, May 6th , 2052 At Asheville Park today, José Arizandieta of the Asheville Highlanders put on a hitting clinic. He banged out 6 hits in 9 at-bats and mauled the Barton Springs Blues pitching staff, but Asheville still came up short on the scoreboard. The Highlanders went home with the 8-7 loss, in spite of a standout 6-hit performance from their catcher. "Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," Arizandieta said in the postgame interview. José Arizandieta doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, flied out in the 11th, singled in the 13th, struck out in the 15th, flied out in the 17th and hit an RBI double in the 19th.
