SAA Gives Outstanding Pitcher Award Sunday, October 6th , 2052 A sparkling 10-3 mark for the year just about says it all -- that's what Elvin Olson of the Asheville Highlanders put up this season. That's why the USSL Double A rated him the #1 hurler in the league and named him the 2052 Outstanding Pitcher Award winner. He held opposing clubs to a .226 batting average and compiled a 2.51 ERA. Olson stood out with 104 strikeouts while giving up 117 hits and 24 walks in 139.2 innings. He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 10. Henry Tucker of the Asheville Highlanders finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Yermolay Olhivsky of the Asheville Highlanders finished third.
