Cardenas Batters Lake Minnetonka Big Time
Wednesday, September 18th , 2052
St. Petersburg right fielder Francisco Cardenas had a day to remember today, 5-for-5 against the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats at Baby Thunder Dome as the Thunder picked up a 13-4 victory.
"He was patient up there today," St. Petersburg skipper Emílio Sáenz told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Cardenas has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes."
Francisco Cardenas singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Felipe Bilderbeek in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Josh Reason in the 8th.
To date Cardenas has chalked up a .270 average with 14 home runs, driven in 64 runs and scored 53 times.
