The Providence reliever won the Pitcher of the Month Award honors today for August, thanks to the solid numbers he put up coming out of the bullpen. He made 12 relief appearances and compiled 9 saves with a 1-0 mark, 15.2 innings, 23 strikeouts and a 0.57 ERA. This year Mermea has 29 saves in 40 relief appearances with a 2-2 record and 0.80 ERA. |
