Medina Gets 3-Game Suspension
Friday, August 23rd , 2052
César Medina of the Farmers has been suspended by the league commissioner's office for 3 games for his animated argument with a home plate umpire in yesterday's contest with the Marquette Miners at Marquette Stadium. In the heated confrontation the Lancaster shortstop pointed to where the ball was and repeatedly pointed his finger in the ump's face and apparently made some contact. That's when he got ejected.
Reached for comment on the suspension, Medina said, "I guess I'll have to learn how to not talk with my hands. They are a dangerous weapon according to the umpires."
For the year Medina is hitting .264 with 3 home runs. His stats include 18 RBI and 7 runs scored.
