Richland Loses 3B van Katwijk, Suspended by League Sunday, August 18th , 2052 Following an intense confrontation with the home plate umpire in which he was ejected, Rails third baseman Jerrel van Katwijk was suspended 4 games by the league. van Katwijk had to be physically restrained by his manager and appeared to make a few threats toward the umpire. He was upset by a called third strike in a game with Minnesota at Loony Bin. van Katwijk could not be reached for comment on the suspension. Thus far this year van Katwijk has hit .224 with 4 home runs and 28 RBIs. |
