5-for-8 Day for Cook
Thursday, August 17th , 2051
After a 5-hit effort to lead Toledo's 5-4 victory over the Lancaster Farmers, center fielder Larry Cook told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the M3L Double A-level is really something special."

The 23-year-old player earned his accolades today at Toledo Backyard Park with a spectacular 5-for-8 game against the Farmers.

"His swing is getting there," said Saboteurs skipper José Zamora, who spoke glowingly of Cook after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Larry did that to perfection today."

Larry Cook struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Tan Reijssen in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, singled in the 9th, struck out in the 11th, singled in the 14th and struck out in the 17th.

So far in 2051 Cook is batting .290 with 5 home runs, 47 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He has 95 hits in 328 at-bats and a .333 OBP.
