Shinn Slams 3 Deep for Sioux Falls
Thursday, August 1st , 2052
Chan-ho Shinn went on an explosive hitting spree against the Ft. Myers Marlins at The Bamboo Forest today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Sioux Falls Red Pandas to the 7-4 win.
The third baseman finished 3-for-7 with 3 runs scored and 5 RBI.
"It was just one of those days," Shinn said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."
Ft. Myers skipper Marvin Nelson said Shinn was "locked-in."
"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."
Chan-ho Shinn flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Gordon Benjamin in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off António Gallegos in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, grounded out in the 12th and hit a three-run home run off Eric Hill in the 14th.
This year Shinn is batting .125 with 3 home runs and 6 RBIs.
