Lieftink Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Wednesday, May 8th , 2052
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Paolo Lieftink of the Monongahela Monsters had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 5-2 win over the Hialeah Dodos at Dodos Ballpark.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 24-year-old third baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Paolo Lieftink singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off André Noël in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Lieftink is batting .480 this season in 7 games with 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has 12 hits in 25 at-bats.
