Superb Year for Ríos, Wins Outstanding Hitter Award

Bakersfield's Mike Ríos put the wraps on a fine campaign today by winning the 2052 USPL Triple A Outstanding Hitter Award.

The 35-year-old veteran scorched the opposition with a .264 average, picking up 95 hits, 24 doubles, 1 triple, 20 home runs and 62 RBIs, while scoring 51 runs.

He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 10. Pancho Cháves of the Baton Rouge Brass finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while John Simpson of the Alaskan Humpbacks finished third.
