Baton Rouge Loses Bays for Year
Friday, September 6th , 2052
Baton Rouge left fielder Benjamin Bays could miss the remainder of the season because of a broken bone in the elbow. He exited yesterday's Syracuse game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Bays would be out 5 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
This season Bays is batting .169 with 23 hits, 4 home runs, 17 RBIs, 18 walks, .278 OBP and has scored 17 runs. He has played in 45 games.
