League Takes Action, Blatchford Suspended Sunday, June 9th , 2052 The Nashville Hot Chickens were officially notified that second baseman Cory Blatchford had been suspended for an altercation that occurred in yesterday's game with the Lynx at Lynx Stadium. After arguing a called third strike by the plate umpire, an enraged Blatchford threw his batting helmet toward home after he reached the dugout. That action got him ejected and a 3-game suspension. "I threw the helmet and I shouldn't have. But I don't deserve the suspension. It was a bad call that started this whole mess." This year Blatchford is hitting .196 with 6 home runs and 22 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .277 clip and scored 16 runs. |
