Ackland Booms 3 Homers Friday, August 16th , 2052 Today was a special one for Glen Ackland of the Buckhead Bowties as he slammed three home runs in the 14-8 win over the Charleston Battery. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Buckhead first baseman collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 5, and scored 3 runs in the contest at 5 Paces Park. Glen Ackland hit a three-run home run off Hunter Stinson in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Sake Bravenboer in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Ronald McDonald in the 8th. So far this season Ackland has hit .248 with 6 home runs, 22 RBIs and scored 18 times. |
