Visscher Hurls No-Hitter Friday, August 9th , 2052 Fans at 5 Paces Park got a rare gift today as Elias Visscher of the Bowties tossed a no-hitter against the St. Louis Coeur. Although Visscher did not appear to have his best stuff in the early innings, he turned masterful as the game went on, ultimately striking out 8 and walking 6 in a 2-0 Buckhead victory. "We had our chances in the first few innings when he was hittable, and we couldn't capitalize on them," St. Louis manager Scott McMahon said later. "In the last four or five innings, he totally shut us down." In all, Visscher faced only 32 batters. While getting into his groove, he was helped by several defensive gems. "I don't remember a better-pitched game," Bowties manager Kerry Hofmeister said. "And how about our defense today?" This year Visscher has compiled a 3-7 record with a 4.25 ERA in 7 starts.
